Here on the main page of our website the first thing one sees is a picture of the cross that hangs at the front and center of the church. Itís displayed here to emphasize that the good news of Jesus Christ is central to all that goes on here at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Typically we express this good news either explicitly or implicitly as a two part message consisting of Law and Gospel, which is Greek for good news.
No one lives the moral life they know they should. Everyone has the basic instinct to run from God. No one can go to God on their own. It has been this way since Adam and Eve chose to overstep the limits set by God and play god themselves. Itís the price they and all their descendents have had to pay for their rebellion. Furthermore, from the beginning God has decreed that anyone who sins will die.
God loves everyone and always stands ready to forgive anyone who turns from their own path to His. God sent His son Jesus, to live a sinless life and yet still to die. Three days later God raised Jesus from the dead. To anyone who is moved by the Holy Spirit to turn to God for forgiveness of sins and a new relationship with Him, God will forgive their sins, consider the death Jesus died as being the fulfillment of His decree and raise them back to life on the last day to live eternally with Him in heaven.
We are a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) since its teachings are faithful to the scriptures and are spoken in love.
